Growing a veggie garden has got to be one of the easiest and most rewarding things to do. This is my first time, and when I brought home the tiny, vulnerable seedlings from the nursery I knew practically nothing about gardening. But with a little nurturing and attention, they’ve come a long way!
The other night I harvested my first head of lettuce and was it ever delicious! In the next couple of weeks I’ll be picking zucchini and tomatoes as well.
In the space of a coffee table I’m growing lettuce, beans, tomatoes, zucchini, red peppers, cucumber, and green onions. If I had a larger deck I could grow a lot more, but I’ve put my current space to good use! Growing food in pots is really easy, and having them on a deck means I don’t get a lot of the backyard pests other gardens might – like slugs!
